I think the following is significant
Public Transport Users Association president Daniel Bowen welcomed the roll-out of myki's next stage.
But he said the Opposition's plans to potentially scrap the system could cause a huge backlash with so much money already spent on the project.
"It has been seven odd months of trains only and people will be relieved the project is nearing completion,'' he said.
"The website was a disaster for the first few months but it is working relatively well now on trains.''
As disastrous as the recent history Myki has been the above quote supports my feeling that Myki has turned a corner. I'm sure they will find more bugs in the system as people use it on trams and buses but I'm sure they will be fixed.
Plus if the Metcard system really wont make it past 2012 then I don't see how a possible Victorian Liberal Government would have time to scrap Myki and replace it with another system. Assuming the 2012 deadline for Metcard is true then I believe Myki is here to stay for it's intended duration.
